Another 16 people have died with coronavirus in Wales, reports Public Health Wales. It takes the total number of Covid-related deaths to 5,237. There have also been a further 336 cases with Wales' overall case rate remaining at 83 cases for every 100,000 people.
The Cardiff and Vale Health Board area reported 7 new deaths taking the area's total to
733. Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board area
reported 4 more deaths and Hywel Dda
Health Board area reported 3. Both
Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board area and Swansea Bay Health Board area reported 1 death each. The Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health
Board area has seen the most deaths overall during the pandemic with 1,455.
Anglesey is the local authority with the highest case rate 122.8 cases per 100,000 people between 10-16 February. This is followed by Flintshire 122.4, Cardiff 105.8 and Powys 101.9. The lowest case rates are in Pembrokeshire 52.5, Bridgend 52.4 and Ceredigion 30.3. 18 of Wales' 22 local authorities are now below a case rate of 100 cases per 100,000 people.
The total number of people in Wales who have had
their first dose of a Covid vaccine is now 860,083.
Second Covid jab doses have been given to 37,773
people.
