Start of a new month...is this the start of recovery for us all...?

Start of a new month and a new week… Many people during this long period of lockdowns still dying from the virus and people continue to put up two fingers at the advice being shared not only by the government, the concerned publishers of the print and television media but also by individuals via Social Media… The message is quite clear but being somewhat ignored… This has gone on far longer than everyone expected and the continued rise in sad deaths helps no one. The sooner the masses realise that everyone within the UK is at risk then normality can pop up its head slightly. The medical staff working in the NHS and all the key workers are doing a brilliant job but can only do so much, the rest is up to us… Please adhere to the messages and for those that care… Let’s be careful out there…

Evidence is plain to see... PEOPLE STILL BREACHING COVID-19 REGULATIONS...

More than 28 people have been fined for breaching Covid stay-at-home rules after police broke up two house parties and a day trip. Both parties were identified within the space of three hours at Bargoed and Rhymney in Caerphilly on Saturday, Gwent Police said. South Wales Police said officers in Merthyr Tydfil also issued eight fixed penalty notices on Saturday after a group of people had stopped off in the town on their way home to Cardiff following a "day trip" in Brecon.

Another 21 people have died in Wales with coronavirus, reports Public Health Wales. The total number of deaths with Covid now reported since the start of the pandemic in Wales is 4,775. 630 new Covid infections were also reported, taking the total number of cases to 192,912.

Of the newly-reported deaths, more than half 11 were in the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board area, which covers Rhondda Cynon Taf, Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil. There were 4 deaths in the Cardiff and Vale Health Board area, 3 in Hywel Dda in West Wales, 2 in the Betsi Cadwaladr area of North Wales and 1 in the Swansea Bay Health Board area.

Wales' average Covid case rate has fallen from 150.1 cases per 100,000 people to 141.2 in 24 hours as Wales is in its sixth week of strict lockdown. However, rates in Wales' most infected county are double the national average.

While case rates have fallen in Wrexham, it remains the area with the highest infection rate in Wales, with 385.4 cases per 100,000 people, which is more than twice Wales' average. Flintshire has the second highest Covid infection with a case rate of 262.0 and Newport third.

Covid case rates are falling in the counties with the lowest infection numbers, Ceredigion has dropped to 34.4, Gwynedd to 84.3 and Monmouthshire to 85.6. Merthyr Tydfil, Denbighshire and Pembrokeshire also have infection rates in the 10s per 100,000 people, rather than the hundreds.

Thought for the day...

And please remember...
