Single figures today...still too many... but has the corner been turned...?

Another 7 deaths in Wales with coronavirus, reports Public Health Wales. It takes the total number of deaths with Covid reported since the start of the pandemic in Wales to 4,782. There were also 614 new Covid infections reported, taking the total number of cases to 193,526.

 

Of the newly-reported deaths, 4 were in the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board area which covers Newport and the Gwent valleys. 2 were in the Hywel Dda University Health Board area in Mid and West Wales and 1 was in the Swansea Bay University Health Board area.


Wales' average Covid case rate has fallen to 131 cases per 100,000 people, down from 141.2, in 24 hours  the county has been in a strict lockdown for more than six weeks.
