Start of half term week...Perhaps a wee bit of normality next week...

Another 16 people have died with coronavirus in Wales, reports Public Health Wales. It takes the total number of Covid-related deaths to 5,137. There have been a further 363 cases reported, with Wales' overall case rate falling to 92 for every 100,000 people.

 

The new deaths, 5 were recorded in the Hywel Dda Health Board area in West Wales and 3 in both Aneurin Bevan and Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board areas in South-East Wales. There were also 2 deaths in the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board area in North Wales, 2 in the Swansea Bay Health Board area and 1 in Powys Health Board. There were no recorded deaths in the Cardiff and Vale Health Board area.


 

Wales' overall case rate, which measures the number of new cases over seven days per 100,000 people, continues to fall, down to 92 from 95.

 

Wrexham, with 161.9 cases per 100,000 people, and Flintshire 134.5, still have the highest case rates, although both reported consecutive falls in recent days. Ceredigion continues to have the lowest case rate at 24.8 per 100,000 people, followed by Pembrokeshire 42.9, Monmouthshire 52.9 and Bridgend 55.8.


Another 13,158 people have received their first Covid vaccine dose, taking the total to 784,809. 2nd Covid jab doses have been given to 5,402 people.

Remember we are not out of the woods yet...deaths are less and daily cases have fallen but everyone still needs to follow the rules...
