Another 25 people have died with
coronavirus in Wales, reports Public Health Wales (PHW). It takes the total number of Covid-related deaths in Wales to 5,084. There have been a further 608 cases reported, with Wales' overall
case rate falling to 102 cases for
every 100,000 people.
The new deaths, 6
were recorded in the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board area in North Wales, 2 deaths were reported in the Cwm Taf
Morgannwg Health Board area in South-East Wales. 7
deaths were reported in the Hywel Dda Health Board in West Wales, 5 in Cardiff
and Vale Health Board, and 3 in
Swansea Bay Health Board areas. Both Powys and Aneurin Bevan University Health
Board reported 1 death each.
Wrexham, with 199.3 cases per 100,000 people,
and Flintshire 172.3 still have the
highest case rates in Wales, although both reported falls in recent days.
Ceredigion continues to have the lowest case rate in Wales at 38.5 per 100,000 people, closely followed by Pembrokeshire 54.8 and Swansea 66.0. Wales' overall case rate, which measures the number of
new cases over seven days per 100,000
people, fell slightly from 107 on
Thursday to 102 on Friday.
Another 31,847 people have received their first Covid vaccine dose, taking the total to 715,944. 2nd jab doses have been given to 4,010 people.
