With Christmas now behind us and the New Year ahead, thoughts of many turn to what is 2021 going to offer and from the current statistics not an awful lot of change to the current situation. A further 15 people have died after contracting coronavirus in Wales, taking the total to 3,383, according to the latest figures. Public Health Wales (PHW) also reported a further 2,273 new cases across the country. New Year celebrations as we remember in past years will be absent for the residents of Wales and a large proportion of the UK, thoughts will be more focused on loved ones lost to this deadly virus.
The aspiration for the population
is that the vaccination rollout gathers pace and the magic formula will
decrease the number of cases and deaths that is currently being reported. Approval
of the Oxford vaccine is expected within days and plans to get people
vaccinated are currently being drawn up. The plus point of this vaccine is that
it does not have to be stored at the low temperatures that the initial vaccine
required.
Finally, do not forget the NHS, Social Care and key workers for their immense effort during the last nine months, and for the effort going forward in the unknown timescale that this pandemic will be present in everyone’s lives... Without their hard work and commitment life would be even more despondent for many many people...
Today's update
from Public Health Wales...
Below is a breakdown of the numbers today in the counties of Wales...
Wales COVID-19 update – 28th December.
After 9 long
months of restrictions, with no end in sight to allow freedom of movement and
holidays, you can dream of faraway places, here are some lovely beaches just
made for relaxing, I have visited most of the places and it might be a while
before I can go back, but everyone should have dreams…
