Yesterday seen
another “stupid as stupid does” stunt by those people that do not follow
guidelines at all… A sprinkling of snow at the top of Penyfan and the hordes just
descended on it as if there was no risk whatsoever. No concern for the number
of loved ones that have sadly lost their lives to this deadly virus. Police have
said a "couple of hundred" vehicles were at Penyfan on Tuesday,
including a minibus full of people from mixed households that had travelled
over 70 miles to walk the mountain.
Real life shows many sides of individuals and I hope that gatherings like this does not create more death and despondency and people realise that this is a real pandemic and not something to ignore… There are far too many that think it will not happen to them…
Look at the state of the hospitals at the moment, health officials in Wales have said they are at risk of becoming overwhelmed. A further 33 people have died after contracting coronavirus in Wales, taking the total to 3,416, according to the latest figures. Public Health Wales (PHW) also reported a further 2,510 new cases across the country. It takes the number of positive tests to 144,425 since the pandemic began.
The Swansea Bay Health board area recorded the highest number of new coronavirus-related deaths with 11. There were six in the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health board area, five in Hywel Dda and four in Aneurin Bevan. Both the Betsi Cadwaladr and the Cardiff and Vale Health board areas reported three and Powys reported one.
