Another day nearer Christmas and the deaths continue to mount. A further nine people have died with coronavirus in Wales, while there have been another 615 cases, according to the latest figures. It takes the total number of deaths in Wales to 2,891, according to Public Health Wales data.

All nine new deaths were in the Aneurin Bevan Health Board area that covers Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport, Torfaen and South Powys.  There is some promising news however, case rates have fallen in 17 of Wales' 22 counties, with only Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire, Gwynedd and Wrexham rising.
