Start of another week... countdown to March 28 when restrictions will ease...

There have been 1,023 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 819,169. There were 2 coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 7,017The latest infection rate based on PCR tests for the seven days up to February 28 is now 156.1 cases for every 100,000 people  a fall from the 159.6 cases recorded on Friday. The local authority with the highest infection rate for the seven days up to February 28 was the Vale of Glamorgan with 211.1 followed by Blaenau Gwent with 191.8 and Carmarthenshire with 189.1.

Hywel Dda Health Board shows 153 cases reported today with 78 in Carmarthenshire, 52 in Pembrokeshire and 23 in Ceredigion. As of February 28 out of 363 patients in acute hospitals with Covid there were only 77 people actively being treated for Covid in Wales.
