Better numbers today, but some areas of Wales continue to be at the top of the list...

There have been 808 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 816,071. There were coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 7,001The latest infection rate based on PCR tests for the seven days up to February 25 now stands at 169.4 cases for every 100,000 people a rise from the 158.8 cases recorded on Tuesday. The area of Wales with the highest infection rate for the seven days up to February 25 was Vale of Glamorgan with 219.3 followed by Cardiff with 215 and Ceredigion with 200.8.

Hywel Dda Health Board shows 124 cases reported today with 85 in Carmarthenshire, 26 in Pembrokeshire and 13 in Ceredigion. As of February 28 out of 363 patients in acute hospitals with Covid there were only 77 people actively being treated for Covid in Wales.
