There have been 855 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 812,699. There were 10 coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 6,979. The latest infection rate based on PCR tests for the seven days up to February 20 now stands at 202.3 cases for every 100,000 people a reduction from the 210.7 cases recorded on Thursday. The local authority with the highest infection rate for the seven days up to February 20 was Ceredigion with 262.7 followed by Cardiff with 259.7 and Carmarthenshire with 256.4.
Hywel Dda Health Board shows 106 cases reported today with 51 in Carmarthenshire, 33 in Pembrokeshire and 22 in Ceredigion. As of February 23 out of 361 patients in acute hospitals with Covid there were only 85 people actively being treated for Covid in Wales.
