Another day, another glitch in the reporting of data from Public Health Wales...Hopefully back tomorrow...

There have been 1,898 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 789,285. There were 11 coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 6,863. The latest infection rate based on PCR tests, for the seven days up to January 31, now stands at 500.4 cases for every 100,000 people a reduction from the 521.5 recorded on Friday. The local authority with the highest infection rate for the seven days between January 25 and January 31 was Newport with 742.2 cases per 100,000, followed by Carmarthenshire with 626.2 and Cardiff with 582.7Hywel Dda Health Board shows 258 cases reported today with 173 in Carmarthenshire, 65 in Pembrokeshire and 20 in Ceredigion. 

As of February 3 there were 1,110 people in general and acute hospital beds with coronavirus (confirmed, suspected, and recovering), a rise on the 1,105 on February 2.
