There have been 1,107 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 793,773. There were 0 coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths remains at 6,872. The latest infection rate based on PCR tests, for the seven days up to February 3, now stands at 443.2 cases for every 100,000 people a reduction from the 466 recorded on Monday. The local authority with the highest infection rate for the seven days between January 28 and February 3 was Carmarthenshire with 628.3 cases per 100,000, followed by Newport with 556.6 and Cardiff with 529.8.
Hywel Dda Health Board shows 141 cases reported today with 85 in Carmarthenshire, 33 in Pembrokeshire and 23 in Ceredigion. As of February 7 there were 1,102 people in general and acute hospital beds with coronavirus a fall on the 1,127 on February 4.
