Data today covers 72 hours...but sadly the seven-day infection rate reaches a new record high...

 

There have been 5,288 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 427,150. There were 31 coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths rises to 6,117. The infection rate in Wales now stands at 719.9 per 100,000 people a slight rise from the 716.9 reported on Sunday. For more information on the Covid figures released on Thursday go to Wales Online...

The area with the highest infection rate is Blaenau Gwent with 1,329.8 cases per 100,000 people followed by Torfaen with 1,069.6 and Caerphilly with 1,048.7 cases per 100,000 people. Hywel Dda Health Board shows 1,109 cases reported today with 509 in Carmarthenshire, 427 in Pembrokeshire and 173 in Ceredigion.
