Covid -19 is not appearing to release its grip on all areas of Wales...Infection rate is rising daily...

 

2297 new cases of coronavirus have been reported by PHW bringing the total cases to 301,276. There were 9 coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 5,721The infection rate in Wales is now 501.8 per 100,000 people up from 481.2 on Wednesday.  For more information on the Covid figures released today go to Wales Online...

The area with the highest infection rate in Wales is Merthyr Tydfil with 804 cases per 100,000 followed by Swansea with 700.8 and Neath Port Talbot with 670.6 cases per 100,000. Hywel Dda Health Board is showing 282 new cases reported today, 203 in Carmarthenshire, 38 in Pembrokeshire and 41 in Ceredigion.

Covid-19 vaccine update: 2,364,393 people in Wales have now had their first dose of the vaccine. 2,195,417 people in Wales are now fully vaccinated.

The COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Van will be returning to Cross Hands and Ammanford to provide second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and give a first dose to anyone 18+ who wants it. The van will be based at the Leekes car park at Cross Hands on Friday, 10 September and Saturday, 11 September, from 11.00am to 7.00pm. Ammanford will see the van at Tesco on Friday 17 September, and Saturday 18 September from 11.00am to 7.00pm.

With the rise in cases across the UK, we are urging as many people as possible to come forward for their first and second doses. There is no need to book an appointment to attend these sessions.
