Start of another week...Restrictions ease from Saturday...

 

A further 1,106 new cases of coronavirus have been reported by PHW bringing the total cases to 242,668. There was 1 new coronavirus death reported by PHW so the total number of deaths rises to 5,616.

The infection rate in Wales is now 144.0 per 100,000 people based on the numbers up to July 28th, down from 148.6 the day before. Wales' infection rate has now fallen steadily over the last week.

The area with the highest infection rate in Wales is still Denbighshire with 385.6 cases per 100,000, followed by Conwy with 268.8 cases per 100,000. Hywel Dda Health Board is showing 87 new cases reported today, 43 in Carmarthenshire, 25 in Pembrokeshire and 19 in Ceredigion. This covers 48 hours as no reporting of numbers on Saturday.

Covid-19 vaccine update: 2,296,517 people in Wales have now had their first dose of the vaccine. 2,066,442 people are now fully vaccinated.
