The vaccination program has reached 80% of the Welsh population...just need the other 20% sorted now...

 

A further 824 new cases of coronavirus have been reported by PHW bringing the total cases to 240,843. There were 4 new coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths rises to 5,610.

The infection rate in Wales is now 152.7 per 100,000 people down from 155.2 the day before. Wales' infection rate has now fallen steadily over the last week from a peak of more than 200 cases for every 100k people in the preceding week. The majority of Wales' 22 local authorities are now reporting more than 100 positive cases per 100,000 people.

The area with the highest infection rate in Wales is Denbighshire with 407.5 cases per 100,000, followed by Conwy with 309.7 cases per 100,000. Hywel Dda Health Board is showing 45 new cases reported today, 18 in Carmarthenshire, 17 in Pembrokeshire and 10 in Ceredigion.

Covid-19 vaccine update: 2,293,927 people in Wales have now had their first dose of the vaccine. 2,047,616 people are now fully vaccinated.
