Start of the last week of restrictions for families and pubs...? Numbers up today sadly...

 

Four more deaths with Covid-19 have been reported in Wales, according to Public Health Wales (PHW). It means the total number of deaths reported by PHW is now 5,556. A further 104 people have tested positive but the latest figures cover a 48 hour period up to 09:00 on Sunday. The total number of people in Wales who have tested positive since the start of the pandemic stands at 211,931. The seven-day rate of infection has dropped to at 8.6 cases for every 100,000 people in Wales, the lowest since August.

Newport has the highest rate in Wales with 22 cases per 100,000 people following small pockets of cases across the city, including Somerton and Malpas. Blaenau Gwent is showing the lowest case rate at 2.9 cases per 100,000 people.

 

The number of people who have had their first coronavirus vaccine dose is 1,935,003 with 846,180 receiving both doses.
