Lockdown rules eased...but let us all not get carried away...

 

Six people from six households will be able to meet outdoors in Wales from Saturday. The easing of the lockdown rules also means that from next week pubs, restaurants and cafes will be able to re-open to serve customers outdoors.


There have been two further Covid-related deaths reported in Wales. A total of 5,542 people have now died with coronavirus reports Public Health Wales (PHW). Another 53 positive tests have been reported, with 12 in Newport and 10 in Cardiff.

The two deaths were reported in the Cardiff and Vale Health Board area and the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board area in North Wales. Wales' Covid case rate has dropped slightly to 15.4 per 100,000 people in the past week. The rolling average of daily deaths remains at 1.4.

 

On vaccinations, there were 6,629 first doses and 8,075 second doses given on Monday. The total number of first doses stands at 1,699,092 53.9% of the population and 610,882 second doses, which represents 19.4% of the population have completed the full vaccine course.
