Another 16 people have died with
coronavirus in Wales, reports Public Health Wales. It takes the total number of Covid-related deaths reported by
PHW in the country, to 5,500. A
further 308 cases have been reported
but Wales' overall rate remains at 75
cases for every 100,000 people.
Of the new deaths, 5 were reported by Cardiff and Vale Health Board. Betsi Cadwaladr Health
Board, which covers North Wales, reported 3,
as well as Swansea Bay Health Board, which covers Neath Port Talbot and Swansea,
and Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board, which covers Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr
Tydfil and Bridgend. 1 death was
reported by Hywel Dda Health Board, which covers Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire
and Ceredigion, and 1 by Aneurin
Bevan Health Board, which covers Caerphilly, Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen,
Monmouthshire and Newport.
The area with the highest case rate in Anglesey,
where 108.5 people per 100,000 have
tested positive for the virus in the past 7 days. The area with the lowest case
rate is Ceredigion, with 31.6.
The total number of people to have
received their first dose of a Covid vaccine in Wales is 902,334 and 80,062 of those have had their second dose.
