Numbers up today... Appears to be no stability in areas of Wales, families still suffering loss daily...

Another 21 people have died with coronavirus in Wales, reports Public Health Wales. The total number of Covid-related deaths reported in Wales is now 5,284. A further 312 cases have been reported, but Wales' overall rate has dropped to 75 cases for every 100,000 people.


There were 5 deaths in the Hywel Dda, 5 deaths in Swansea Bay and 5 deaths in Cardiff and Vale Health Board areas on Thursday. There were 4 deaths reported in the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board area, and 2 deaths within the boundary of Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board area.

The latest data shows Cardiff had the highest case rate in the seven days until 20 February, with 103.8 cases per 100,000 people, followed by Anglesey 101.4. Flintshire, which has been among the areas with the highest case rates in Wales, has now dropped below 100 with 97.4 cases per 100,000 people. Ceredigion 28.9, Pembrokeshire 46.9 and Bridgend 47.6 have the lowest case rates in Wales.

 

The total number of people to have received their first dose of a Covid vaccine in Wales is 889,270 and 69,851 of those have had their second dose.
