Some sad families out there today....

A further 66 people are reported to have died in Wales with coronavirus, Public Health Wales has said. It takes the total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic to 4,063. There were also 1,533 new Covid infections reported in Wales, taking the total number of cases to 174,412.

21 of the latest coronavirus deaths reported were in the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board area, which covers Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf, with another 11 in the Aneurin Bevan Health Board area in South-East Wales.

There were 10 deaths in Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board area in North Wales. Cardiff and Vale reported 8 more deaths, and Hywel Dda reported 6 more deaths from Covid.

137 new cases of Covid-19 in the Hywel Dda region confirmed in the latest data published by Public Health Wales this lunchtime.

  • 90 in Carmarthenshire
  • 23 in Ceredigion
  • 24 in Pembrokeshire

101,371 people have now received a first dose of COVID vaccine in Wales.  In the latest day, 10,061 jabs were given out - that's near twice the number on the previous 2 days.

Remember the rules of this Tier 4 Lockdown are there and flouting the rules only causes more cases to be reported... The rules are LAW...
