Another 17 people have died in Wales with coronavirus, Public Health Wales has reported, it takes the total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic to 3,981, its latest figures show. There were also 1,793 new Covid infections reported in Wales, taking the total number of cases to 171,547.
Of the latest deaths, there were 12 in the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board area, 4 in the Hywel Dda area, and 1 in Cardiff and Vale.

The Master Plan...The journey back to normality...
All over-50s and everyone who is at
greater risk will be offered a Covid-19 vaccine by Spring, under the Welsh
Government's new plan. Everyone over 70, all care home residents and staff
and front-line NHS workers will be offered a jab in Wales by mid-February. Ministers
hope to reach all eligible adults by the autumn. It follows criticism of the
speed of the vaccine rollout in Wales.

3,900 doses of the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine confirmed for week
beginning Monday 11 January (strictly for care home, health and social care
staff only at our mass vaccination centres in Carmarthen and Cardigan)
