Start of another week...countdown to the change in restrictions but the numbers tell a different story...

 


There have been 2,566 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 840,270. There were 4 coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 7,070The latest infection rate based on PCR tests for the seven days up to March 13 is 335 cases for every 100,000 people a rise from the 304.5 cases recorded on Friday. Infection rates in every area of Wales has risen and the Local Authority with the highest infection rate for the seven days up to March 14 is Blaenau Gwent with 515.3 cases per 100,000 population followed by Vale of Glamorgan with 428.9 and Gwynedd with 386.2.


Hywel Dda Health Board shows 325 cases reported today with 139 in Carmarthenshire, 106 in Pembrokeshire and 80 in Ceredigion. As of March 18 there were 645 patients in acute hospitals with Covid of whom 110 were being treated for the condition.
