1 year ago 127 cases reported...0 deaths... Today 1,877 cases reported...15 deaths...Covid is still around us all...

 

There have been 1,877 new cases of coronavirus reported today by PHW bringing the total cases to 847,055. There were 15 coronavirus deaths reported by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 7,090The latest infection rate based on PCR tests for the seven days up to March 18 is 416.1 cases for every 100,000 people a rise from the 403 cases recorded on Tuesday. Yesterday was the first time the infection rate had gone above 400 since the seven days between January 31 and February 6. The local authority with the highest infection rate (based on PCR tests) for the seven days up to March 18 is Blaenau Gwent with 657 cases per 100,000 population followed by Vale of Glamorgan with 498.6 and Wrexham with 464.1.

Hywel Dda Health Board shows 238 cases reported today with 93 in Carmarthenshire, 91 in Pembrokeshire and 54 in Ceredigion. As of March 22 there were 714 patients in acute hospitals with confirmed Covid of whom 117 were being treated for the condition.
