Autumn has arrived...the lighter evenings are leaving us...but Covid is staying put all over Wales...

 

2727 new cases of coronavirus have been reported by PHW bringing the total cases to 338,338. There were 2 coronavirus deaths reported today by PHW so the total number of deaths has risen to 5,839The infection rate in Wales is now 582 per 100,000 people up from 559.9 on Thursday.  For more information on the Covid figures released today go to Wales Online...

The area with the highest infection rate in Wales is Neath Port Talbot with 898 cases per 100,000 followed by Merthyr Tydfil with 838.8 and Rhondda Cynon Taf with 768.9 cases per 100,000.  Hywel Dda Health Board shows 290 new cases reported today, 165 in Carmarthenshire, 86 in Pembrokeshire and 39 in Ceredigion.

Covid-19 vaccine update: 2,403,572 people in Wales have now had their first dose of the vaccine. 2,214,247 people in Wales are now fully vaccinated. Public Health Wales has lowered the number of first vaccine doses reported to have been given in Wales from 2,403,572 to 2,370,711. This is because booster doses given have been incorrectly counted as first doses.
