Cases are up...will they rise again as the pubs have opened again...?



Two more Covid-related deaths have been reported in Wales. The number of people who have died with coronavirus is now 5,548, Public Health Wales (PHW) confirmed. There have been 97 new cases confirmed in Wales, taking the total to 211,321. The latest data covers a 48-hours period up to 09:00 BST Sunday as figures are no longer published on Saturday.  The new deaths reported, one was in the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board area covering North Wales and the other was in the Cardiff and Vale Health Board area.

The number of Covid patients in hospital on Sunday was the lowest in the pandemic and 95% fewer than we saw during the peak at the end of December. PHW's figures show that 1,777,375 people have now had their first dose of the vaccine while 689,534 have had two dosesThe rolling seven-day case rate in Wales has fallen slightly from 13.6 to 12.9 per 100,000 people.
